On Becoming a House Plant

Sheltering from the Cold

Normally this plant, which we call “Seymour,” sits outside in the nice, warm Florida weather; only there hasn’t been any warm weather lately. So, we temporarily put our little green friend in the garage to keep him from freezing. Over the weekend it will get even worse, we’re expecting temperatures in the low twenties! This is the coldest we have seen here in many years.

Of course, we will get no sympathy from our northern friends who have it much worse than we do, but I must never pass up an opportunity to whine.

  1. I’m guessing the freeze will be an issue for the citrus industry and the strawberries too. We will be above freezing and into the 40s for the next week. Time for soup and homemade bread y’all.Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone
