Brisk northwest winds brought more freezing weather to Florida and sloshed the water in this birdbath, leaving an icicle dangling on the downwind side. The birds were not impressed; one dejected crow just gave me a dirty look from its frozen surface and then flew away.
I found a way to thaw out a hose, remove the solid ice from the bowl and then fill it with much warmer water. I invited the crow back, but I don’t think he was listening.
