Caterwauling

Neighborhood Cats

Yowls emanated beyond our back yard and sounded like a catfight was about to start. I stopped to wait for the ensuing fracas, but it never materialized. Finally, I decided to leave as quietly as possible, but the cats noticed me and both mellowed with no “punches” being thrown. They even seemed to make peace with each other.

So, were they potential combatants, or were they just in their own ways asking, “Your place or mine?” I don’t know, with cats it’s really hard to tell.
