It rested peacefully in its web in the morning light that was muted by dense, surrounding foliage. Suddenly, its primary eyes detected a change in the light and the motion of something coming its way. It shifted slightly in its web, perhaps to get a better view of the person that was approaching since its eyes were immobile.
It’s uncertain whether or not it could see the details of the approaching human distinctly but if it could, it might have been terrified by the gigantic form whose bloated body was so grossly out of proportion to its stout appendages compared to the spider’s. Furthermore, the hideous creature walked on only two legs while the two upper appendages flailed strangely about.
The spider watched warily, not moving, just waiting for whatever might happen next, perhaps considering its own fight or flight options. Finally, the creepy creature backed away, turned, and walk on down the wooded trail, leaving the spider at peace once again.
