This wispy flowering tree brightened our morning walk. Usually, the wispy blooms were too high to get close up photo, but with the help of my wife holding the branch a little lower, this one was just right. Perhaps it’s time to celebrate with a breakfast drink of the same name!

Zoo-m Meeting?
Are they are hiring animals to work at the zoo? If so, how long until they are actually running the place. Hmm, might not that be for the better?
A Happy Thought
Happy Mother’s Day
Sun With a Flare
Sunspots with their magnetic fields are visible on the right of the photo with their NOAA numbers listed below the image. The spot near the center is larger than the Earth, and the bright area to the upper left of center (labeled 2996 plage) is a gigantic magnetic explosion that hurled high-energy x-rays and particlesContinue reading “Sun With a Flare”
Wasp Nest
On our way back from our walk recently we discovered this wasp nest on our lawn. It apparently had fallen from a tree. The egg chambers are surrounded by paper-like layers, presumably to protect from sun and weather. We had never seen anything like this before, and hopefully, we won’t encounter any of its formerContinue reading “Wasp Nest”
Come What May
The grinning crescent moon settled towards the horizon as we rode on the People Mover in Tomorrowland of the Magic Kingdom. A lifetime of memories are captured in this image with many more yet to be made, come what May.
Out My Back Door
This was our view at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. Zebras, giraffes, wildebeests, ostriches, and even a warthog lazily passed by. With just a little more wine, perhaps we’d even see tambourines and elephants!
May Flowers from April Showers
A simple trip to the store brought home an unexpected burst of beauty for our yard. The lovely hydrangea caught our attention and found a way into our cart along with groceries. I suspect the plant will last much longer than the groceries.
Reflecting On Brunch
Once this propeller powered passengers aloft on a Convair 440. Now it decorates the wall at the Flying Boat Tap Room near Belleview, Florida, reflecting the bunch enjoying brunch on Sunday morning.
Jet-Sun
I was getting close-up images of the Sun in red, hydrogen-alpha light, when this airplane crossed through the field of view. It makes me wonder of the people on the airplane at the time and how they would feel to know that from my perspective they had had a “moment in the Sun.” Also, happyContinue reading “Jet-Sun”
