As we returned to the checkout after picking blueberries, the adjacent forest greeted us with a cheerful sight. It was almost as sweet as the berries. #abshirefarms #blueberries #forest #flowers

Afternoon Illumination
Rays from the lowering sun accented the tabletop decorations in un unusual light. It was a captivating scene without sermons, lectures, or object lessons; just a beautiful sight to be enjoyed. #sunrays #light #afternoon # beauty
Dew on Blue
The dew on the blueberries had our mouth watering as we picked and snacked our way through the sweet delights on the rows of bushes. When we left, fingers and lips were berry blue as well. #blueberries #dew #morning
Dragonfly
This delicate dragonfly captured our attention as we entered the blueberry patch yesterday. We admired it briefly and then turned our attention to the blue fruit in the background. The dragonfly didn’t seem to mind. #dragonfly #blueberries
Early Riser
The sun had barely risen when this tiny little mushroom caught my eye. Delicate and fragile, it barely rose above the blades of grass. I had not noticed it the day before and did not see it the next day. Perhaps that’s why it arose so early in the morning, one day may have beenContinue reading “Early Riser”
Rain’s Return
It has been a dry year so far, and when sprinkles fell recently, we hoped that they would prime the pump to get the rain machine running again. The sprinkles turned to showers and then into a downpour, and we got nearly an inch of rain in a short time. The next day more showersContinue reading “Rain’s Return”
Turtle Rock
We found this “turtle” at friends’ house in Grand Cayman. It makes a perfect pet; it doesn’t eat, drink, bite, make noise, or excrete. It simply keeps the door open as requested, though it seems to be smirking. It put a smile on my face; perhaps it can do the same for you. #turtle #rockContinue reading “Turtle Rock”
Mercurial Moment
The morning of April 25, 2025, the thin, crescent Moon lay within a triangle framed by Venus, Saturn, and Mercury, but I was nearly denied the opportunity to see this event. At first, clouds below the Moon hid Mercury from view. It was a race to see if the clouds would disappear before Mercury wasContinue reading “Mercurial Moment”
The Color of Life
Prismatic glass, illuminated by the Sun’s rising rays, painted light’s true colors across the bathroom wall. The rainbow of colors that we see around us emerges from so-called white light. Look closely for the colors which are everywhere; they make life all the more beautiful. #coloroflife #colors #spectrum #rainbow #light #life
