A large group of bottlenose dolphins riled the waters by Anna Maria Island while they were either feeding or “courting” during our boat tour yesterday. Either way, we were having nearly as much fun as they were. Well, maybe. #dolphins #annamariaisland #intracoastalwaterway

Great Tern Out

We were walking along the beach Halloween morning when a flock of hundreds of terns flew by for several minutes making little sound, but definitely attracting our attention. We looked up cautiously as they flew over and kept our eyes open and our mouths shut. #tern #beach #annamariaisland

Decapod Dead or Alive?

I have never seen a crab like this on the beach before. It wasn’t moving, but was quite large with massive claws. I wasn’t sure if it was dead or alive, but the birds weren’t messing with it, so i figured neither should I. #crab #beach #annamariaisland

Of Sea and Sand

Waves of beach sand sculpted by the ripples and currents of the ever changing tide cast shadows under a lowering Sun. Tomorrow, another tidal cycle will rearrange the scene to the whims of the current and swells. Will it be similar or totally different?
