Mares’ tails in the morning sky radiated orange light from the rising sun. Sometimes they portend mischief from the weather gods and signal the approach of rainy weather, but not always. Cirrusly Swiss Cheese
This cirrus cloud appeared yesterday, punched full of holes like Swiss cheese, by aircraft traveling along routes to Tampa, Orlando, or Miami. As they passed through the clouds, their wings created a spinning wake, like miniature horizontal tornadoes, that tore holes in the clouds and left a confused pattern behind.
