Feeling Blue

It’s over; the mild autumn weather has turned frigid and freezing temperatures have arrived. We even had to put a blanket on the pool. As I sadly did my duty, I couldn’t help saying, “See ya’ next spring.” #cold #winter #pool #freeze

De Feet Da Heat

With air temperatures in the low nineties, the pool water in the eighties felt great. Thanks to the pool, we are enjoying the hot, dog days of summer. It’s the ideal way to defeat the heat. #heat #feet #pool #dogdaysofsummer

He’ssss Back!

A little over a week ago this ribbon snake was caught skinny dipping in our pool. Now it is back. This time I caught it in a deep net from which it was unable to escape before took it out of the pool area. I hope it stays away so we can get back inContinue reading “He’ssss Back!”

Ribbon Snake Roundup

It struggled to get out of the pool not long after we had all exited. Though not sure just when or how it entered the pool, I know exactly how it got out. With a net on a long pole, I “rescued” it, but it it leapt out of the net onto the pool deckContinue reading “Ribbon Snake Roundup”

Poolside Apparition

Might the hibiscus actually admire its own reflection in the pool? I certainly do. #hibiscus #pool

Leapin’ Lizard!

Somehow it ended up in the pool, bobbing about while we finished our lunch. Whether it fell in or leapt in I don’t know, but after several desperate attempts, it finally climbed part way out of the cold water, but could go no farther. When I approached to offer assistance it jumped back into theContinue reading “Leapin’ Lizard!”

Pool in PJ’s

The pool season is over and now it is covered for the rest of fall and winter. Though it was last used over 6 weeks ago, it was nice seeing it open and hearing the water feature splashing onto the surface. But temperatures have dropped so we put the its PJ’s on the pool whileContinue reading “Pool in PJ’s”

Cider Time

Work’s done, errands have been run, it’s time for cider by the pool. Courtesy of Union Hill Cider Company, East Wenatchee, Washington #pool #cider #unionhillcidercompany

Sunday Blue

Nothing like blue, sparkling wine by the pool on a lazy afternoon.

Pool Time

At long last the pool is open again. The cold is past, the trees have dropped their littering, pollen-producing staminate flowers (AKA “tree testicles”), and the warm sun once again brightens the patio.
