On a recent glass-bottom boat tour on the Silver River by Ocala, Florida, we were treated to the view of an ancient dugout canoe resting on the bottom of the river. Tests have shown that it is around 500 years old and likely was created by the Timucua People residing in the area at that time. I had to wonder of the people represented by this treasure and their descendants who might walk among us unrecognized to this day.
This has special significance for my own family since, through my wife, my children are also descendants of the First People of this nation. See: https://eskildoodle.com/redman-in-the-midst/
Redman in the Midst is quite a tribute to the rememberance of previous generations of family.
