105 and That’s No Jive

Trail and Onlookers From Yesterday’s Walk

As of yesterday, the last day of January, 2023, we had walked 105 miles so far for the year. That’s about 20 more miles for the month than needed to reach our annual goal of 1,000 miles but we like to start the year with a little extra. We completed the walk at the Marjorie Harris Carr Greenway Trail and were cheered on by critters such as the Big Cypress fox squirrel (lower left) and Cardinals (lower right). We wouldn’t think of texting or listening to music on such walk; it would interfere with the sights and sounds of the natural inhabitants.

Fairy and I have been walking together for well over 50 years and during that time have walked the equivalent of one and half times around the world. Who knows, maybe we will eventually complete the second time around, figuratively of course!
