Gold of True Value

Goldfinches at the Feeder

They had been chased away by an aggressive yellow-rumped warbler time after time, and for a while they had disappeared. But now they are back, and their little nemesis seems to be gone, at least for the time being (see https://eskildoodle.com/2023/02/02/dirty-little-turdy-birdie/). They are changing from their winter plumage to their breeding plumage, which means in a few weeks they will head north once again and will not be seen again until the next holiday season.

In the meantime we will enjoy their golden transmutation as long as possible, and hope that they will not be intimidated by that darned warbler again.

  1. We’re waiting for the Goldfinch to arrive.  Shoukd be anyway.  I bought some butterbark to put on the trees for the flickers.  Hoping to see them soon too.  Sent via the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G, an AT&T 5G smartphone
