Another Kite in a Tree

Mississippi Kite Perched in a Tree

Charlie Brown need not worry about this kite in a tree, but insects and some small birds and rodents do. They are food for this avian predator who migrates to its breeding territory North America in spring. In the fall they return through Central America and spend the rest of the year in South America. They are thriving as a species and have been expanding their range of habitation. Yay! They are really pretty birds and make the most interesting squeaky whistle, like bathtub toys for tots. We look forward to their return every spring and often hear them before spotting them.
