Around a corner from our house this oak tree is splitting from the stress of its own weight as it arcs nearly horizontally across the adjacent street. Will the owner have it taken down by a tree removal service before it finally collapses or will it someday just crash down onto the street? That is undecided for the moment. In the meantime we are walking a wide path around its potential fall zone until it reaches its final fate.
