Willful winds rattled the rafters and sent sobs and sighs down the flue, but it could not dispirit the reflections of the rising sun that caressed the slopes of Mount Hood. Undaunted by the gale, the peak perched proudly along the horizon as if grinning, and for a moment, it even seemed to wink.
