House of Memories

Kennewick, Washington

Decades ago we watched this house arise on open, treeless land. We had grass laid in the yard and planted trees, roses, rhododendrons, and a hedge. Inside the house, a family grew, milestones were passed, and triumph arose from near tragedy.

In due course our children went their own ways and we moved on to other challenges. Now, on return to our old home, we trace ethereal memories of the past and of people that had once been so much a part of our lives. The neighborhood now belongs to others and is a place which we can revisit but we can never reclaim.
