A Fine, Peasant Pleasure

Fresh From the Oven

No, it wasn’t the Little Red Hen, but rather, a resourceful Fairy that produced these loaves. While we could just buy bread, nothing matches the aroma, feel, and taste of warm, freshly-baked bread; it’s part of our heritage.

We both grew up on midwestern farms, and what we lacked in dollars, we made up for with ingenuity. The smell of fresh, warm bread more than compensated for what we couldn’t buy. To this day, it brings back happy memories of a past that we would never want to change or forget, for it was a fine and peasant pleasure.
