Clouds that had hidden Alaska’s costal mountains parted along the way revealing this view of a glacier and its tributaries. Dark lines show debris that has been plucked off the rocky ridges and carried for miles as the centuries passed. It was an amazing sight that made me wonder what part of the glacial ice formed from snow that fell when Galileo was still unraveling the true nature of the solar system.
