I was doing my daily solar observation when this little bug flew up, landed on my leg, and then quickly folded its lacy wings and tucked them under his dark forewings. (They are officially called “elytra.” ) It walked about a bit—whether searching for food or intelligent life, I don’t know—but it didn’t seem to find what it was seeking and soon, it parted the elytra, agilely unfolded its delicate hindwings, and flew away.
