Dark Sunset

Sunset over the Gulf

Clouds shrouded the western sky along Florida’s Gulf Coast save for one small, bright opening near the horizon. We had all but given up hope of seeing the sunset, but as the sun reached the horizon, it briefly peered through the porthole in the clouds and moments later later illuminated the somber setting with orange and violet rays which lingered for many minutes before slowly fading from view.
