They have been shy this year, with just a few showing up in their drab winter colors. That has changed as seen by the yellow feathers replacing the gray. First Arrivals

Yesterday morning our first goldfinches of the season were spotted at the feeder. They always arrive between Thanksgiving and Christmas and brighten the season even though they are in their drab, winter plumage.
