Shadow Land

The shadow cast by the decorative white squirrel silhouette scampered much more slowly than its living counterparts as the sun slowly rose in the morning sky. Yet, it captivated my attention much more than might a fleeing glimpse of brown fur disappearing into the branches above. #squirrel #shadow

Sun rays, direct and reflected, created a complex shadow “monster” on the wall that resembles something from Mystery Science Theater 3000. Forked

I had to do a double take after I snapped this photo to separate the fork from the shadow in my mind’s eye because of the illusion of contortion. It almost seemed more twisted than a pretzel or some of the yoga poses I have seen. #fork #shadow #sunset #yoga #contortions

Three Fingers

The forked tree shadow resembled fingers poking along the street. I preferred to think that it resembled fingers instead a huge bird footprint, which it also resembles. It was a fortuitous moment as sunlight passed through door panes, illuminated flowers, and cast their shadows upon the wall. Within minutes the scene had vanished. Acorn in the Morning Light

While photographing the Sun yesterday morning, I happened to glance downward at the cement pad I was working from. This acorn with its crisp shadow caught my eye, and I just had to pause a moment to photograph it. Though small, it left a big impression. #acorn #shadow #sunlight
