Ripples in Time

Long before animals or plants roved or grew on land, gentle wavelets in a shallow sea rippled the sands along the shore. Over the eons heat and pressure turned the sands to stone, then fused it into quartzite. Overdressed

Someone seems to have taken pity on this lamp post as it shivered in the autumn chill, and provided it with a nice, warm cover for its bean-pole torso.
