Not long ago we were at Anna Maria Island, and this bird silhouette in the window added its charm to the sunset. Though the “bird” was inside the window, it was quiet and left no messes behind, unlike the pigeons on the electrical lines above our parking spot at a nearby restaurant. #bird #sunset #pigeonsContinue reading “Birdie in the Window”

Cold Autumn Moon
An approaching cold front provided begrudging looks at the gibbous Moon this morning. Shortly after this photo was taken, the Moon disappeared as if eaten by a dragon, not the fire-breathing type, but one with a cold heart. #Moon #autumn #dragon #cold front
Fairy Loaves
Fresh today, and wow, does the house smell good! The Fairy Coffee Mother is also a baker, yum!
Birds of a Feather
Halloween is long gone and decorations are changing. We will hope that the decorations meet the approval of this pair of poultry Pilgrims. #Turkey #thanksgiving #poultry
Quiet On the Eastern Front
The winds have lightened, the rain will soon end and then it will be time to clean up the yard. The Presence of the Past
Round engine, open cockpit, two sets of wings, tail on the ground. When it comes to airplanes nothing says blast from the past more than those factors. This plane isn’t an antique, however, but rather a homebuilt 3/4 scale replica of a biplane designed and flown over 60 years ago. Having flown similar airplanes, IContinue reading “The Presence of the Past”
Watcher in the Woods
It’s always around, somewhere. Sometimes it’s in the back yard, sometimes next door and sometimes across the street. Always watching, and it’s far better to to be its admirer rather than its prey. #redshoulderedhawk #birdofprey, #hawk
Of Wings and Dreams
I cannot remember a time when airplanes weren’t a part of my life. My dad had learned to fly in 1929 and passed that passion on to his children. I had many dreams of planes I’d fly and places I go in them. Looking back, I was able to live more of those dreams thanContinue reading “Of Wings and Dreams”
