First Goldfinch
Yesterday, December 20, 2021, the first goldfinch of the winter season appeared on our birdfeeder. Though in winter plumage, a hint of gold is visible on its neck and upper chest, and its distictive wing bars positively identify it. Reflecting on the Cove
As mentioned before, our favorite place to go out to eat is the Cove Pub and Grub restaurant near Inverness, Florida. A delightful drive through the country past horse paddocks, forest, and ponds leads us to this destination, where the scenery is as good as the food.

While walking in London’s Hyde Park a few years ago we spied what looked like a dark-colored mailbox and I thought of cookies we had mailed to family for Christmas. Closer examination, however, revealed that it would not be wise to try and mail the sort of cookies that would be found in this box!
