We found this black-crowned night heron during our walk at the Circle B Bar Nature Preserve. We had not seen one this year, so now it is # 117 on our annual bird list. YAY! #blackcrownednightheron #Circlebbarpreserve #birdlist

New Look for Christmas
With a little help from a friend, our old Christmas wreath is on the door with a new look. #Christmas #wreath
Cork-A-Doodle-Doo
A pleasant drive under partly sunny skies led us to Keel and Curley Winery where some light tasting followed by a wonderful meal left us quite satisfied. Afterwards we wandered the grounds past blueberry and strawberry plants, by a pig and some goats. Black and white speckled chickens clucked and squawked in a nearby cageContinue reading “Cork-A-Doodle-Doo”
Time to Turn Around
We figured we had gone far enough to when we came across this alligator just a couple of feet from the trail. Some tempted fate by passing by it, but we figured we didn’t need to. So we turned around and moseyed back the way we came. Good thing, because a couple hundred yards backContinue reading “Time to Turn Around”
Past Plane and Simple
Thanksgiving reminiscing always includes memories of airplanes, starting with this 1941 Taylorcraft, NC33932. Hoppy Thanksgiving

Two More Days

Artemis I is on its way to orbit the Moon and today (Monday, November 21, 2022) will pass within 60 miles of the lunar surface. The purpose of this space program is to return people to the moon on the third Artimis mission. If all goes well with spacecraft testing on the first two flights,Continue reading “Land of Light and Eternal Night”
Beginning to look a Little Like Christmas
We usually wait until after Thanksgiving to start on Christmas decorations, but this year the Christmas Fairy just couldn’t wait. Aided by an Elf that was a combination of Dopey, Doc, and Grumpy, a wreath-like collection of artificial leaves, vines, and grape lights was gathered and mounted above the lanai. Dopey and Doc had aContinue reading “Beginning to look a Little Like Christmas”
